Introduction
I’m starting to get the hang of doing these breakdowns and color keys. I kept to the same protocol that I’ve been using with the others making sure to breakdown everything into its color-coded parts. I had to make a few changes to the design that I felt were a little unclear in the finished design.
For instance, I needed to make his head shape a little more symmetrical for ease of replication.1 I tried to make the sleeves more rolled to the forearm, and lastly, I made his pants uncuffed and more like they were too small for him.
Thank you all for reading these smaller posts. I know that they’re probably not the most scintillating, but I’ve found that these more “boring” steps actually help me to build confidence in my design abilities, work through problems in the design, and also in sharing the entire process boring bits and all it helps those newer to the field or interested in becoming Graphic novelists to see that it’s not all flash and pages being worked on but also planning, repetition, and precision and yes a little mundane as well.

In the next post I will be working on Walter’s turnaround.
Please remember to like, share, and subscribe to never miss a post. This helps me to grow and reach more people!
Also it doesn’t hurt to have the ability to use the symmetry ruler on occasion to speed up production.
